Night Clock Project for Xariant

This idea for a nightclock came about when I could not find a digital clock that suited my need for a nightime bedroom clock and all the available "nightclocks" on Amazon turned out to be subpar. You do not have to go far in the reviews to realize they all fail at illumination. My solution was to take a standard mechanism out of a cheap clock and paint the clock hands with phosphor paint. I found the best way to illuminate them was to run a UV led strip around where the numbers would be. I also stuck a voltage regulator to dial down the 12V so it was just light enough to read but not a night light. I then cut a hole in some black foamcore board and hot glued it up. This could be a great clock if someone could go the extra mile with it 3D print a stylish enclosure and refine the electrical connections so that it did not run off a wall wart.
